Gary Sorenson

Baritone

Gary is a recent transplant to the Bay area. He resides in San Francisco where he is currently working on his master’s degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Hermann LeRoux. Before moving to the Bay Area, Mr. Sorenson participated in several productions with the Utah Opera Company singing compromario and ensemble roles such as Flora’s servant in La Traviata and one of the ranchhands in Floyd’s Of Mice and Men.

His recent stage credits in the Bay Area include Rimbaud in Rossini’s Count Ory with the Conservatory Opera Theater, Ruggiero in Halevy’s La Juive with the Richmond/Berkeley Jewish Music Festival, Guglielmo with West Bay Opera, Escamillo with Summer Music West, Der Sprecher in Die Zauberflote and Mr. Jenks in Copeland’s Tenderland with the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus with San Jose Lyric Theater and Frank in the same opera with San Francisco Lyric Opera, the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute’s Summer Festival 2000. Mr. Sorenson participated in the conservatory’s annual Messiah Sing-in at Davies Symphony Hall in December as one of the soloists under the baton of Barbara Day Turner. , in addition to scene and master class studies.
