Zachary Gordin

Counter-tenor

Zachary is gaining international acclaim for his artistry. Blending his intense stage personality with a voice noted for its versatility. He is equally at home in the bravura style of the 18th century, as with works of 20th century composers. The Counter-tenor performs a broad repertiore of operatic roles spanning four centuries, including the title roles in Giulio Cesare, Rinaldo, Serse,and Tancredi, Amore/Orfeo ed Euridice, Cherubino/ Le Nozze di Figaro, Nerone / L'Incoronazione di Poppea, Oberon / A Mid-Summer

Nights Dream, Ruggiero / Alcina, Sesto/ Giulio Cesare, The Sorceress / Dido and Aeneas. Sacred works he has performed include Bach's B-minor Mass, Mozart's Esultate jubilate and C-minor Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Handel's Messiah. A frequent guest artist with San Francisco Opera, Berkeley Opera, Oakland Lyric Opera and others. Among his accolades are winner of the Bellini International Voice Competition and the Ibla Grand Prize Baroque Music Competition, and a recipient of the Irene Patti Swartz Award for the Florida Grand Opera- Young Patronesses of the Opera National voice Competition. He was World Finalist for the Acadamia di Perfezionamento per Cantare Lirici at La Scala, Milan and Pacific Region Finalist for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

The Future includes concert and recital appearances in the United States,France and Italy and creating the Role of Wilder in Earthrise written for him by the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, Lewis Spratlan.
