Oakland Lyric Opera pursues the following goals as it remains true to its mission statement:--
TO ENRICH the quality of life in the greater Oakland/East Bay community through knowledge and appreciation of opera.
TO INCREASE OPERA AWARENESS in the community.
TO PROVIDE dynamic community outreach programs to local public schools; to provide children of any racial, cultural and ethnic background the opportunity to be exposed to the enrichment of the all-encompassing theater experience of opera; to give them one more option in which to exercise their choice of cultural events and performing arts as well as to to ensure the appreciation of future audiences to the genre.
TO ACHIEVE measurable growth in identified areas.
TO DEVELOP the combined efforts and participation of our Bay Area community ultimately into a fine professional opera company.
